I, Rachael Foster-Jacob, am the data-controller of your personal information as it relates to my shop Short But Sweet on www.shortbutsweetbakery.co.uk.

When you place an order from me, I will receive your name, delivery address, telephone number and email address in order to process your order. I will only use these details to process and deliver your order or to deal with any queries you have related to that order

The only circumstances in which I will share your data are in processing your order or complying with the law. I will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent. The circumstances in which I may share your data are:

• With mail delivery companies or couriers in order to fulfil your order.

• To comply with any legal or tax obligations that I have.

I will only retain your details for as long as necessary and in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for six years. After this time, I will delete your data from my records.

You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way I handle your data.

All items are baked to order, so will usually be dispatched between 1-2 weeks. Most parcels are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 so you should receive it within 1-2 days of posting. Some bakes that have a longer shelf life can be sent Tracked 48, if preferred. If you require an item for a certain date please contact me and I will endeavor to get your order to you for the required date. Please try to give two weeks notice in this case. 

A non-refundable deposit of 50% (or £20 for date-only bookings) is required to secure your order and event date. No order is confirmed until the deposit is received.

• For standard cake orders, cancellations made more than 7 days before the collection date will receive a refund of any balance paid.

• Cancellations made within 7 days of collection are non-refundable.

• Orders that have entered production or have been baked are non-refundable.

Wedding & Large Bespoke Cake Orders

A 50% deposit is required to secure your order. The remaining balance is due 7 days before the event.

Cancellations:

• If you cancel more than 8 weeks before your event date, your deposit will be refunded minus a £20 administrative fee.

• If you cancel between 4 and 8 weeks before your event date, the deposit is non-refundable.

• Cancellations within 4 weeks of the event date are non-refundable.

• Once an order has entered production or ingredients have been purchased specifically for your order, no refunds will be given.

By paying the deposit, you confirm acceptance of our terms and cancellation policy.
